Do Early-Life Choices Really Determine Success in BitLife?

I’ve been playing BitLife for quite some time, and I’m curious how much impact early-life decisions actually have on long-term success. Things like studying harder in school, choosing certain activities, or maintaining good relationships seem important, but sometimes random events completely change the outcome anyway.

Is there an optimal way to play from childhood if you’re aiming for high-paying careers, fame, or long legacy runs? Or is BitLife intentionally designed so that luck and randomness will always outweigh perfect planning? I’d also like to know whether focusing on stats (smarts, happiness, looks) early on really pays off later, or if they can be easily recovered in adulthood.

Interested to hear how other players approach their playthroughs and whether you play strategically or just embrace the chaos.
