In GeoGuessr each round begins by dropping the player into a random location somewhere in the world. You can be placed on a quiet countryside road, inside a busy city, or in a remote village. Using Street View, players can move around, rotate the camera, and zoom in to observe their surroundings. When ready, you place a marker on the world map to guess where you think the location is.

Your score depends on how close your guess is to the actual location. The closer you are, the more points you earn. This simple scoring system makes the gameplay easy to understand, even for first-time players. In the free version, movement and exploration are limited compared to the paid mode, but this restriction actually adds a fun challenge by forcing players to rely on observation skills rather than endless searching.
