At what age can children start being influenced by gender stereotypes?

The first emergence of gender stereotypes frequently occurs anywhere between two years to three years when children notice that simple differences between boys and girls exist outside the known world. This early idea helps to mold how one views himself or herself as well as others. In editing theses child development or psychology, one must underscore at what early stages the stereotypes are formed and how they shape behavior, interest, and self-esteem, because such an understanding would lead researchers to suggest better means of creating an environment that promotes inclusivity in children. If these stereotypes are addressed early on, children would be provided with space to explore without restrictions based on the age-old notions of what "should be done by boys or girls."
